Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP ) chief Mayawati ridiculed the Narendra Modi government's expansion terming the inclusion of four ministers from UP and Uttrakhand as a 'political drama' before the Assembly elections.

"The PM has failed to address the problems of the masses of UP and Uttrakhand. This expansion has been done on the basis of political and caste equations rather than boosting development," she asserted.

In a statement issued in lucknow on Tuesday, Mayawati attacked the PM claiming that the BJP government had gone for expansion aheasd of the polls, similar to previous Congress regime at teh Centre." It seems, Modi is adopting the legacy of Congress," she added.

On Tuesday, the Modi government inducted three ministers of state from UP and one from Uttarakhand.

Criticising the Centre for its anti-poor attitude, the BSP chief said that the Centre has failed to implement its development of agenda and upliftmnent of the poor.

"The Central government was instead promoting big Corporate Houses and all benefits were being chanelled to them," she charged.

Mayawati also raked up the issue of waiver of fine amounting to Rs 200 crore on the Adani group for violating environmental norms. "The Centre's act shows that how the corporate houses were being benefited,'' she said.

Meanwhile, Congress too flayed Narendra Modi on the ministerial expansion. ``Just like other poll promises of Modi have fallen flat, now his pre-poll `slogan’ of `less government and more governance'  has been exposed with the jumbo cabinet expansion on Tuesday. In fact, Modi has made the Union government a `laboratory’ of experiment," Congress spokesman Amarnath Agarwal said.

Agarwal also flayed Modi for going ahead with the an expansion for playing `caste and communal politics’ in Uttar Pradesh.
