Bahujan Samaj party chief Mayawati has slammed the prime minister for his SCAM remark saying Narendra Modi is speaking in uncivilised language which is condemnable. Modi addressing election meeting in Meerut on Saturday had said SCAM stands for –Samajwadi, Congress, Akhilesh and Mayawati. Mayawati said the 'SCAM' comment, is indicative of the petty casteist mindset of the BJP.
"Even after becoming the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is speaking in uncivilised language which is regrettable. Prime minister is speaking in the same language in UP assembly elections which he had used during the assembly elections in Bihar and Delhi and the people of both the states had rejected the BJP. The BJP should be ready to face the music here also as the people of the state will reject the party in UP assembly elections’’, said Mayawati in a statement issued here on Sunday.
Accusing the BJP, of doing the politics of tokenisms by invoking the legacy of Dr Ambedkar Mayawati charged `` BJP is using the name of Dr Ambedkar for its narrow political ends to get votes of the dalit community, the fact remains that the incidents of atrocities on dalits have increased across the country ever since the BJP came to power at the Centre in 2014’’.
Mayawati said ``it is unbecoming of a person holding the office of the Prime Minister to take names of individuals for his political fight and it shows his petty casteist mentality."
Mayawati said the people of UP have to choose between development agenda and those who give shelter to criminals, indulge in vote bank politics and encourage land and mine mafias.
"Prime Minister's speech also shows the level of animosity BJP government and its ideologue RSS has towards dalits, backwards. Their hatred also proves the frustration of BJP because of its bad position in the UP assembly elections as Modi is taking the name of individual (Mayawati) in his speech," Mayawati said.
Mayawati said instead of targeting his political rivals the prime minister must explain to the nation about the scam behind his immature note ban decision which ruined the lives of the millions of the poor people besides causing immense hardships to the masses.
