To galvanise the party workers and make them ready to face the coming panchayat elections in the state, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati once again looked towards her mentor and party founder Kanshi Ram. She directed the office-bearers and workers of the party in Uttar Pradesh to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram in a big way in all districts on March 15.
The main function will be organised at Kanshi Ram memorial in Lucknow and party workers and leaders from Kanpur, Faizabad and Lucknow divisions will attend it. The BSP workers of Meerut division will attend the function in Noida.
The BSP workers will gather in strength to pay tribute to the founder at events to be organised in all 403 assembly constituencies as well.
The party leaders and in-charge of the assembly constituencies will address meetings to enlighten the party workers about the policies of the BSP and views of Kanshi Ram, said a press statement of the BSP released here on Wednesday.
This will help in mobilisation of supporters and party cadre at the local level and galvanise party workers ahead of the panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, sources in the party said.
A meeting of the office-bearers was held under the chairmanship of Mayawati to also review the preparation for the panchayat elections.
Mayawati directed the chief sector in-charges to release the name of the zila panchayat candidates after approval from the party. After the panchayat election, the party will start preparations for the assembly election.
The party organisation should be strengthened from the district to the booth level, she said.
Meanwhile, the BSP president slammed Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress for the miseries of the people of the country.
"Congress wrong policies were responsible for BJP turning so big and strong in the country and now people are cursing both these parties," she said while blaming both the national parties for all kinds of miseries.
It may be mentioned that the BSP has been in a state of inertia since the Yogi Adityanath government assumed office in 2017. Mayawati has been spending her time in Delhi and the party cadre have no clue of the party's direction. Nine BSP MLAs have already parted ways, adding to the sense of gloom in the party.
