Mayawati hails SC for allowing writ against 'Election Bond'

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati welcomed the apex court for allowing a writ petition on 'Election Bond' and said that necessary action should be taken as the huge fund collected by a particular party had made the poll process a mockery.

On Friday, Mayawati tweeted, "The influence of the corporate world and money power of the wealthy has created a lot of ridicule of democracy and people, making way for deep immorality and inequality in the poll process and eliminating the 'level playing field' in the country. This money game is getting more air with the secret 'electoral bond scheme'."

The BSP chief again posted, "Now after a long time, the Supreme Court will start hearing the petition related to electoral bonds. It should be expected that there should be some improvement in the electoral system of the country based on money power. Instead of selected parties, pro-poor parties could get some relief from the brunt of expensive elections."
