Bahujan Samaj party president and former UP chief minister Mayawati extending good wishes to the people for the new year has said that she prays god that good sense will prevail on the prime minister Narendra Modi and he will not burden the nation with any new anti people policy like the demonitisation and the Goods and services tax in 2018.
“Vast majority of the people favour a peaceful life but they have to bear the brunt of the consequences of the statements of the Sangh parivar leaders in intemperate language and the anti people and anti farmers policies of the BJP government which are only for benefitting the corporate world’’, said Mayawati in a statement issued here on Sunday.
Accusing the BJP government of being arrogant and authoritarian Mayawati said ``nation is paying a heavy price of the arrogant government headed by the prime minister Narendra Modi, who for his narrow political interest created financial emergency like situation by implementing demonitisation’’, she added`` new fear has gripped the people as they apprehend that the government would use their hard earned money deposited in banks for bailing out the loss making public sector banks’’.
Mayawati alleged that the prime minister to escape from his accountability towards the stabilizing the economy is in the process of bringing `Financial resolution and deposit insurance bill ‘’ in parliament which empowers the government to use the money lying in saving banks accounts for bailing out the loss making PSU banks.
She said the agony caused by this move of the government to the common people could be anybody’s guess. BSP chief said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be adamant on creating one trouble after another for the common people and she prays to god that good sense may prevail on the prime minister in 2018 so that no fresh trouble is caused to the common people.
