Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati strongly denied charges levelled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a Mahoba rally about a posible truck between her party and the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) to grab power in UP.
“The PM is trying to propagate a totally false theory about the BSP to misguide voters. I have not forgotten the June 2,1995 Guest House incident in lucknow. There can not be any compromise with Samajwadi Party,” she asserted on Wednesday afternoon.
Mayawati said that during its tenure between 2007-12, the BSP government had sent thousands of SP workers and leaders with criminal antecedents put behind the bars. She said that Modi was making such statements to divert public attention from NDA’s failures especially tha of ensuirng `achhe din’ (good days).
On her part, Mayawati alleged that it was the BJP which was hand in glove with the SP for communalising the society for vote bank politics.
“Both BJP and SP are responsible for the Muzaffarnagar riots. Prime Minister Modi has been saving the present SP regime even as jungle raj persists in UP. The BJP has always said that there was no question of imposing President’s rule in the state,” she pointed out.
The BSP chief also alleged that during 1967, 1977 and 1989, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had poll-alliance with Jana Sangha and BJP which indicates who the real partners of the SP were.
At his Mahoba rally on Monday, Modi had asked the people to getout of the trap of alernate rule by the SP and the BSP to escape backwardness. The PM charged both parties of taking turns in looting public money and not acting against the other even after announcing it.
