Mayawati attacks SP

Published on:

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said that the ruling SP's initiative to stitch a grand alliance indicated that the party has conceded defeat even before the Assembly polls.

She said that the SP’s role during Bihar polls would definitely haunt the partners as it was Mulayam Singh Yadav who ditched them to shake hands with the BJP aiming to damage the grand alliance' poll prospect in Bihar.

"Any move to form an alliance with Samajwadi Party will directly benefit the BJP. None of the parties will think of joining hands with the SP after the Bihar experience.

Mayawati also targeted the BJP for banning the telecast of a news channel. ``Everyday our soldiers are getting killed on the border. Instead of taking concrete action, Narendra Modi government is trying to crush the voice of the fourth pillar of democracy. The situation is quite like the Emergency days,” alleged Mayawati.

She also said that the BJP is now well aware that they will not get any vote from the Dalit community and have hence stopped referring to the community.

Meanwhile, the Congress too reacted strongly against SP silver jubilee year celebration and flagging of `Parivartan Yatra’ of the BJP.

"The efforts of the Yadav family to project a united face and ready to forge a grand alliance in UP stood exposed on Saturday when members of the ruling clan indirectly blasted each other from the dais,” said Chairman of UPCC Media Cell Satyadeo Tripathi.

"The manner in which both Akhilesh and Shivpal used the opportunity to attack each other is a clear pointer that their move of forming an alliance will fall flat.

"The open pact of the SP and the BJP to fan communal hatred to polarise voters has been exposed. Other secular parties will not go ahead with any kind of alliance with the SP. let me tell you, the Congress will go it alone in the 2017 polls,” Tripathi informed.

latertraining his guns at the BJP, Triapthi said, "The BJP has failed to fulfill any poll promise so far and are staring at certain defeat after Rahul Gandhi’s `Kisan Yatra’. Hence they were now taking out `Parivartan Yatras’. However, this is not going to help the saffron brigade as the public has seen through their designs."

At the SP's silver jubilee celebrations, the power tussle between Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal played out in the open on Saturday. While Akhilesh said, "I will not reply to certain things. lohia ji used to say he would be heard but only after death. I want to say that people will hear but only after everything is damaged."

Earlier, Shivpal took a swipe at his nephew, saying that some people inherit power without doing anything while others get nothing despite making sacrifices.
