Mayawati attacks BJP Govt

Published on:

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati once again attacked the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state chasrging that they were trying to hide their failures and divide the society on communal lines by resorting to ‘gau raksha’ (cow protection).

Mayawati also claimed that Goods and Service Tax (GST) was ushered in without preparation and alleged that the BJP and the RSS were ‘misleading’ people on various issues.

“The RSS is now openly using government wealth, facilities and power to push its agenda of casteism, communalism and violent politics. In this case, the BSP is being specifically targeted,” the BSP chief claimed in a statement released in lucknow on Saturday.

She said that the BSP’s missionary zeal was intact and deep rooted in Uttar Pradesh and feelingt hreatened of this, the BJP and RSS were spreading rumours about the party.

“Coming of these casteist forces to power both in the state and the Centre was bad for the country as the BJP was interested in dividing the country and not uniting it. An atmosphere of fear is prevailing throughout the country and incidents of castiest and communal violence have been rampant,” Mayawati said.

“The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh has failed miserably in ensuring development, curbing crime and improving law and order,” she charged.

Mayawati claimed that the condition of roads, water supply, electricity, hospitals and education had hit rock bottom. “This is happening, when there is a BJP government both at the Centre and in the state. During the 2017 Assembly polls, the party made tall promises to lure the voters. like Modi government at Centre, the Yogi government in the state is also turning out to be a government of pretence and deceit,” she alleged.

Earlier during a meeting with party leaders, Mayawati said that the BSP was the only party which was following the path shown by Dr BR Ambedkar and even after defeats, the morale of workers was very high.

She asserted that her party would not bow down to any pressure or compromise with any other party due to the defeats and her workers would fight back and come to power again in the next elections.
