Mayawati asks why no Dalit has been made PM of India

While congratulating India-origin British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Bahujan Samaj Party national president Mayawati has questioned why no Dalit has been made prime minister of India till date, thus indicating her ambition to adorn the coveted post.

In a tweet, Mayawati said that the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress were waging a twitter war over the appointment of a minority member as prime minister of England but both were silent on one question -- why so far no Dalit has been made the prime minister in India.

"Twitter war is going on in India between Congress and BJP after Indian-origin Rishi Sunak finally created history by becoming the British prime minister. Allegations and counter-allegations are going on everywhere, but political rights and justice are not being talked about. Due to which no Dalit has been able to become the prime minister in the country so far,” she wrote in her tweet.

The BSP chief said that at a time when the rich and developed countries of America and Europe were battling and were constantly doing new experiments to handle the situation, the Indian rulers should also think about the country's interest and the future of the people here.

The BSP chief said that in this sequence it was necessary to investigate and test who was the true benefactor of the downtrodden, the backwards and the neglected. “The way Congress and BJP are engaged in Twitter war, it is a serious matter,” she said in a series of tweets.
