Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief targeted the Congress and the Bharatiya Janta Party for trying to impede her party from returning to power in UP. She alleged that Congress was behind a person who has moved a petition against her in the Supreme Court with the sole aim of insulting a Dalit.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court accepted Verma's petition on the DA case against Mayawati despite protests from the CBI counsel.
"The petitioner Kamlesh Verma had contested the lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh on a Congress ticket. later in 2012 lok Sabha polls, he contested the Charkhari seat in UP, as a Congress candidate. He has moved the Apec Court against who even as the CBI has given me clean chit. In fact, the Congress is using him for get even as they failed to nail me during the UPA regime," she alleged.
Even in her address at a function in lucknow, Mayawati said thaty Congress has always insulted Dr Ambedkar. "First they opposed him in the elections and then promoted Babu Jagjivan Ram against him. They even did not spare BSP founder Kanshi Ram and termed him as an ISI agent besides implicating me in the DA case," she charged.
Taking a pot shot at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, the BSP chief questioned his political acumen. "Rahul compared Dr Ambedkar with Hyderabad scholar Rohit Vemula, who committed suicide. How can Dr Ambedkar be compared with Vemula who could not resist the pressure.Dr Ambedkar could only be compared to Nelson Mandela or Kanshi Ram," she said
