Maya predicts mid-term polls in UP

After Bharatiya Janata Party state president laxmikant Bajpai, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has also predicted early election in Uttar Pradesh, saying the Samajwadi Party Government will fall under the weight of its own contradictions.

During her review meeting with party leaders and workers here for the third consecutive day on Thursday, Mayawati asked partymen to be prepared for mid-term polls in UP.

“The present Samajwadi Party Government is under tremendous pressure after the lok Sabha loss and could automatically fall within a year,” she said, and added: “The recent mandate has come against the Samajwadi Party Government. People want a change and this is the right time to fill that gap.”

BJP state president laxmikant Bajpai had recently said that the Samajwadi Party Government would fall very soon because it had lost the faith of people.

Meanwhile, the BSP president asked her party workers to rejuvenate and forget the lok Sabha election results. “Though we have not won any seat but our vote bank is intact and it could be a boon for us,” she told the party leaders.

BSP has already started revamping the party organisation. “We will do well in the next elections,” Mayawati declared.
