Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s love for cycling came under scathing attack when BSP national president Mayawati said as Chief Minister has no work; he is busy riding bi-cycle. She was referring to CM’s participation in national cycling meet here on Sunday and state government’s resolve to construct cycle track all across the state capital. Pat came the answer when Yadav said that Cycling keeps one fit. This mode of transport is good for environment. Besides, cycle is used by poor, farmers and even dalit for commutation. “Our Government is committed to popularize cycle because this is poor man’s sawari,” Yadav said.
Cycle is the election symbol of Samajwadi Party. Earlier in the day Mayawati had said that as Chief Minister has no work, he is riding bi-cycle. “UP CM has no work and hence he is riding bi-cycle and launching the projects commenced by my government,” she said. She said the government has failed on all fronts and now the government is spending crores for its ‘ fake’ achievement. If the SP government is such confident about its achievement why it is not going for an early assembly electionIJ “All the projects, which have now become this Government’s USP were in fact were started by my government during 2007-12 including the much hyped lucknow Metro,” she said.
The former UP Chief Minister also said that now the state is being known as “Crime State’ as the rate of crime has broken all time records. The goons and the criminals are running a parallel government. The BSP president also took strong exception to the government move to demote dalit employees.”We condemn the act of the SP government and warn them to stop such harassment,” she said. Mayawati also criticised the Akhilesh Yadav government for ignoring the plights of farmers for the unseasonal rains and delay in providing their cane dues. “The state government is just sitting and doing nothing for the farmers, whereas more than 50 farmers have died or committed suicide due to their crop loss,” she said.
