Maya attacks BJP over action against madrasas, atrocities on Dalit

Published on:

Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has again attacked the Yogi Adityanath government over the survey of unrecognised madrasas in Uttar Pradesh.

She said that non-government aided madrasas were engaged in imparting education to the poor, and asked why was the government interfering in it?

Not only this, the BSP supremo also attacked the Congress along with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

According to media reports, Mayawati on Wednesday targeted the Yogi government in a series of tweets. She wrote, “By forming a special team, the UP government has completed the work of the much-discussed survey of private madrasas dependent on people's donations. According to the survey more than 7,500 'unrecognised' madrasas are engaged in training poor children. These non-government aided madrasas do not want to be a burden on the government, so why interfere in them?”

She further wrote, “Survey is specially conducted for budget provision for salaries of teachers and staff of madrasas of government Madarsa Board, so will the UP government make these private madrasas government madrasas by including them in the grant list?”  The BSP government had included 100 madrasas in the UP Board.

BSP chief Mayawati also targeted the Congress. She said that earlier the Congress government, in the name of madrasa modernization, instead of ensuring higher education of their choice to the students there, imparted training in driving, mechanic, carpenter trades etc.

Mayawati described the education system in government schools as worse in UP as well as in all other states of the country.

The BSP president also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party government over the attacks on Dalits and Adivasis in Madhya Pradesh.

Mayawati wrote in her tweet that atrocities on Dalit and tribal society was continuing in Madhya Pradesh too.

“Today, in Deoran of Damoh district, the miscreants fired indiscriminately at the Dalit family and then crushed them with stones and killed three people. The rest of the injured escaped and saved their lives. There is little to condemn this heart-wrenching incident. This dark age-like latest incident exposes the failure of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh in terms of law and order as well as the security of the poor, Dalits, tribals and women etc. The government should not take soft but strict action against such criminal elements, this is the demand of BSP.”
