Admitting that leaders leaving Bahujan Samaj Party has adversely affected party’s movement, former Chief Minister Mayawati has asked party leaders and workers to stay away from nepotism and work for the welfare of the people as they are looking towards BSP for UP’s revival. “Some people who became MP or MlA on BSP ticket have betrayed BSP movement by joining other political parties whom we treat as our political enemies. They have stabbed on our back. Their mistakes cannot be condoned. This act of theirs has affected the BSP Movement. We should stay away from such people who only think about themselves and their family members. Such nepotism has affected BSP’s movement,” Mayawati said while addressing party leaders and senior in a meeting here on Sunday.
She cautioned party leaders and workers to stay away from nepotism and strengthen BSP movement all across the state. “The workers should take inspiration from Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram as how they sacrificed their interests to strengthen the BSP movement. Our movement comes first. We should think about our family and ourselves once we have achieved our target to strengthen the movement,” she said. Giving a pep talk to workers after BSP’s stunning defeat in lok Sabha elections she said that politics has ups and downs. One day you may be out but the other day you might get thumbs up from the people. “Never lose heart. Work for the welfare of the people. Their blessings will help you in future,” she said.
She directed the leaders to strengthen BSP movement and go to the grass root level to fulfill the dreams of Dr Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram. She also asked the leaders to connect the Sarv Samaj with the party so that the BSP gets political success. “You can work for the welfare of dalits and other oppressed classes of the society only if you are in power. Bring all the sections of the society under the umbrella of BSP Movement,” Mayawatti said.
The BSP launched its preparation for the Mission 2017 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh by reviewing the political situation in the state as well as assessing the party’s performance in Delhi polls. Former Chief Minister alleged that the present state government of the Samajwadi Party has failed on all fronts. She said that Government is so weak that other institutions are now dictating terms with the Akhilesh Yadav government.
Questioning the report cards issued by UP governor Ram Naik on the functioning of the state, Mayawati said whether this practice is correct or not needs to be examined by the President of India or the Union Government. “Press conferences are being held in Raj Bhawan and Governor questioning law and order is clear indication that state government is weak. People have lost faith on this Government. They are now looking towards BSP to redeem themselves,” she said. Mayawati will review the organisation and other matters on regional and divisional wise here from Monday.
