Hitting out at Chief Minister Bharatiya Janata Party state president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that by showing an inclination towards an alliance Akhilesh Yadav has conceded defeat even before the election process has begun in Uttar Pradesh.
“Akhilesh Yadav has failed on all fronts therefore he has inaugurated some incomplete projects. Have you ever seen that trail of a project is inaugurated. Come to UP and see how a CM inaugurates trail of less than 8 km Metro project which is originally 27 km long. As he knows people have rejected Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav has started scouting for alliance partners. In other words he has conceded defeat,” Maurya said while addressing a press conference here on Sunday.
He said that if CM was so confident of his victory he should have waited for election result and then inaugurated projects. “The inauguration of incomplete projects by the CM during the past one month proves that Samajwadi Party is not returning to power,” he said.
“As compared to this the popularity of BJP is on the rise. The decision to demonetise high currency notes has gone very well with the people. The SP, BSP and Congress are baffled at the support Modi is getting now. The opposition has got so much rattled that BSP Chief Mayawati has started blaming Modi for all the ills. It seems she is now gripped with Modi phobia,” Maurya said adding that people are annoyed with both Mayawati and Mulayam over their opposition to demonetisation. This will be reflected in the coming election.
He said BJP’s Parivartan yatra is getting tremendous support from the people. It has so far covered 47 districts and 127 senior party leaders have taken part in the yatra at various places.
Meanwhile, many prominent leaders including sitting legislators joined BJP. They are BSP MlAs from Kanpur Indrapal Singh and Kasganj Mamtesh Shakya. Wife and son of later RlD leader Munna Singh Chauhan, senior Congress from Ghaiziabad Amarpal Tyagi and many supporters of Rita Bahuguna Joshi joined BJP.
