Hitting out at Congress’ much hyped Kisan yatra BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya said that party’s yuvraj had a bad beginning as he used Hindi phrase to say that on the first day of the yatra “Congress ki khaat lut gayee”.
“What happened in Congress’ Yuvraj’s Deoria rally was hilarious. People were invited with an assurance that they would be given khaat (charpoy) and as soon as Rahul Gandhi closed his speech people walked away with `khaat’ they were sitting on,” Maurya said in a statement issued hereon Tuesday.
He said: “Desh ko loot ne waalo ki khatiya lut gayee.”
Maurya said that the first day of the yatra has thrown indications as what is stored for Congress in the election. The people came after they were given assurance of freebee and they walked away with khatia.
“Where UP is today it is because of the wrong policies of Congress. When UPA was in power SP and BSP were its two clutches. They Congress did nothing for the people. Now, the same Congress is working as B-team for the SP and BSP. If Congress is so concerned about UP it should tell people about 12K crore scam during UPA regime,” Maurya said.
He said now Congress is talking about waiving of loan but when it was in power why it did not take steps to ensure that farmers become self sufficient. “Farmers are suffering because of bad policies of the UPA Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has talked about increasing income of farmers by 2020. We are working in that direction and soon results would be there for everyone to see,” he said.
