Hitting out at Samajwadi Party BJP president Keshav Prasad Maurya has demanded resignation of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav after Mulayam Singh Yadav criticised the party cadres for land grabbing and their involvement in other criminal incidents.
"Mulayam Singh Yadav’s statement has vindicated BJP’s stand. It is a right time for Mulayam Singh Yadav to ask his son Akhilesh to step down from the CM’s post. He should appointment someone else who could maintain law and order and give good governance in the state," Maurya said here on Friday.
The statement of Mulayam Singh Yadav is very serious. When he himself says that the SP leaders are grabbing lands and are involved in criminal acts this shows SP national president is not happy with law and order situation of the state. The people should now come forward to denounce the SP government at all levels, he said.
"Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav should resign on moral ground after his father raised a big question mark over his capability to give clean administration,” Maurya said.
Talking to reporters Maurya, lok Sabha member from Phulpur in Allahabad, said that the condition of roads in the state had deteriorated after the first rains. Even bridges have started caving in.
"CM Akhilesh Yadav should take action against his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, who is the PWD minister. The way roads and bridges are caving in shows that poor quality material has been used in construction of roads,” he said.
The BJP leader further claimed that there is a panic situation in BSP and SP as several senior leaders have deserted these parties and have joined BJP. Many have joined and more to follow in the coming days.
"A few days back our national president Amit Shah had predicted that all BSP cadre will desert Mayawati and she will be left alone. That prophecy is likely to come true,” he said.
When asked about party’s campaign to recognize land grabbers Maurya said that over 2000 people have lodged complaint through official email ID. The complaints are being scrutinised and those found genuine would be passed on to the officials. He said.
Meanwhile, former MP Devendra Nagpal of the BSP and SP leader Buddhasen Verma from Pilibhit joined the BJP along with former MlA Pratap Chuhdury. Another BSP leader Sangam lal Mishra took the membership of the BJP along with his supporters here.
“Joining of these leaders will strengthen party at the ground level. These leaders will help BJP to complete its 265+ mission,” BJP state president said.
