Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati lashed out at the BJP and the ruling SP over the Mathura violebce charging that both were follng the public by engaging in a blame game.
"The BJP and the SP are the two sides of the same coin and both the Centre and the UP governments were equally responsible for the Mathura violence," asserted Mayawati.
"The Centre’s laxity on the matter is questionable. What has the Intelligence Bureau been doing in the last two years. The Home minister and a dozen other Union ministers were playing politics over the incident by blaming the state government," Mayawati said.
In a statement released on Monday morning, Mayawati said that it is an open fact that the UP government patronised the encroachers but why did the Centre not act when they had a better Intelligence wing.
"Besides, why did the Centre not initiate a CBI probe on its own when it is in the know about the leader behind the entire mess. The BJP leaders are indulging in drama and its ulterior motive is to protect the interests of the SP government," she asserted.
The BSP president also questioned the silence of Governor Ram Naik over the entire incident.
" The Governor used to issue statements on each and every political development in UP. What has happenbed to him now. Why is he keeping mum on the Mathura voplence IJ" she sought to know.
Mayawati also sought to know that why did the Centre not seek any report on law and order from the Governor to initiate necessary action and why did it not issue any advisory using it’s Constitutional powers.
