Mathur says SP govt lacks behind due to bureaucracy

Taking a soft stand on the performance of the State government which already completed three years in office, Congress legislature party leader Pradip Mathur, blamed the bureaucracy for failure of the Samajwadi Party government so far.

“Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is making serious efforts to launch development work and put the State back on track but he (Yadav)failed to deliver it due to non-cooperation of the state bureaucracy”, asserted Mathur. Replying to a question on how he rank Akhilesh Yadav, who also completed more than three years in office, Mathur initially seems to be hesitant to speak anything against the State government but later shielded chief minister by transferring the responsibility of failure on the shoulders of the bureaucracy. ``Akhilesh Yadav had taken up many fruitful projects but irony is that chief minister failed to get the same executed”, Mathur remarked.

However, he had full praises for SP government on forwarding compensation to the farmers whose crops was damaged in the dust, hail storm and unseasonal rains this year. ``The farmers in UP had already got state’s share of compensation against the damage to their crops but the Central government under Narendra Modi just made announcement and took no steps to provide the money to state government so that it could be given to the farmers”, claimed Mathur, while calling BJP’s government at the centre as anti-farmer’s and anti-poor’s government.

Attacking the recent power tariff hike in the state, ClP leader said that it has been raised almost by “60 per cent” in the three years of SP rule. “The power regulatory commission has hiked power tariff by 17 per cent three days ago...In the last three years they have been raised by 60 per cent in four phases and this has become a big problem for the people of the state”, Mathur said.

He expressed hope that the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will roll back this “anti-people” decision. The Congress leader also criticised the state government for law and order situation, “failure” to clear cane dues and attacks on journalists.

Flaying Narendra Modi government for cheating the nation in the name of `Achche Din”, Mathura demanded the resignation of union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhra Raje Sindhiya  and Smriti Irani and asked the Prime Minister to break his “silence”. Claiming that senior leaders in the BJP were being sidelined, Mathur alleged that there was internal emergency in the ruling Party.
