BJP vice-president and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Om Mathur exhorted party workers to strengthen the organisation to prepare for the Mission 2017 so that the people of the state gets relief from the ‘ kushasan’ (misrule) of the Samajwadi Party government.
“We have to start our preparation immediately as we are running out of time. To get rid of SP Government BJP workers should strive hard to form the next government in UP,” he said.
“The party needs the same effort during 2017 assembly elections from the workers shown during last lok Sabha polls,” he said while addressing party leaders on his first visit after being elevated as the party’s vice- president here on Monday.
Mathur praised the party workers and leaders for enrolling new members in the state and now asked them to contact all the new members during the Mahasampark drive so that they can become dedicated activist of the party.
He said that out of the total 1,40,000 polling booths in the state, the BJP has plan to set up Pravasi workers in 1,20,000 booths. “Already Pravasi workers have been appointed in 94,000 booths so far, he said.
Earlier UP BJP accorded a warm welcome to Mathur along with national general secretary Kailash Vijay Vergese and national secretary Dr Mahendra Singh. All these three leaders reached the state party headquarters by a procession from Amausi airport this morning and they were honoured at several places on route.
Vergese in his address said that UP did a condemnable job during the lok Sabha polls by sending the highest number of MPs. This success helped BJP to get absolute majority and form Government at the centre.
He also accused the UP government of ignoring all the public oriented welfare programmes of the Centre due to which masses of the state are not getting the benefits. “The achievements of the Modi government and failures of the SP government will give us the success in 2017 assembly polls,” he said.
Dr Mahendra Singh, MlC, who has been made the national secretary, said that the UP government has failed and now every single person in the state was looking towards BJP to dislodge the SP government.
The meeting was also addressed by UP BJP president laxmikant Bajpai and other leaders.
