Demanding from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and finance minister Arun Jaitly to apologize for failure of demonetization scheme, Rashtriya lok Dal State president Dr Masood Ahmad said Modi’s move to go cashless had boomeranged and had put the innocent people to stand in a queue.
He said the finance minister was offering commission to the customers who used digital system to pay for petrol/ diesel/ railway ticket and for insurance policies to deflect the attention of the public from the failure of central government’s failure in assuring adequate cash availability at banks. “The Modi led government came on power on a popular plank of black money but failed to do so in its two and a half year tenure. Now the desperate central government drew a move of demonetization to win public trust in assembly elections,’ he said.
He said Modi and his minister should now stop misleading people by suggesting newer methods and instead work on a plan to address people’s problem. The leader clarified that it was good on part of the central government to detect black money but putting the life of common men in jeopardize was not logical. “A number of people lost their lives while waiting in queues for money transaction work while a number of people who had settled the marriage of their children suffered as they lacked cash due to government policy. Farmers are struggling hard to manage seeds for crop season and starving in the lack of cash as the cash they had was rendered useless after demonetization. What was their faultIJ’ he argued.
He called upon his party workers saying to highlight the faulty policies of the Central government while contacting the common men and hoped that the people will give a befitting reply to the Bhartiya Janta Party in the coming assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
