Just over a petty dispute over buying a gold chain, a man killed his wife and later committed suicide.
The shocking incident took place in Shikohabad locality of Firozabad in the early hours of Monday.
Report said that Deepak Yadav (30) of Brijendra Colony in Shikohabad had regular fights with his wife, Shashi Yadav (26), as the latter was asking him to buy a gold chain.
According to other family members, the two also fought on Sunday afternoon but after they intervened, Deepak stopped the fight claiming that he will now never have any argument with his wife.
The family claimed that at around 3 o'clock in the night, they heard a gunshot and rushed to Deepak’s room and were shocked to see his wife lying in a pool of blood. Later they again heard another gunshot and found Deepak had committed suicide by shooting himself with a country-made revolver which was found lying near the body.
Deepak’s brother called the police and the cops rushed to the spot and sent both the bodies for autopsy.

Meanwhile, two minor siblings drowned in a pond in the district’s Akhand Nagar area, police said on Monday.
The incident was reported from Sajampur Rajbhar village on Sunday.
According to police, Muskan (8) and her six-year-old brother Veeru were grazing livestock when they decided to take a dip in a pond. When they did not return home till late, the family members launched a search for them and found the children’s clothes near the pond. After pulling the children out of the water, the family members rushed them to a hospital where doctors pronounced both dead.
Circle Officer (Kadipur) Shivam Mishra said the bodies were handed over to the family without post-mortem on their request.
