Mahila Cong urges Guv to check crime against women

Published on:

Uttar Pradesh Congress women’s cell on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Governor Ram Naik, seeking his immediate intervention to check the rising crime against women in Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation, led by All-India Mahila Congress president Sudipta Dev and party MLA Aradhna Mishra, claimed that the crime against members of fairer sex was rising with every passing day in the Bharatiya Janata Party rule in UP. They alleged that eight women were raped, 33 abducted and at least 100 criminal offences were committed against members of fairer sex every day in UP and this indicated that the UP government had failed to check crime.

Accusing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of having no concern for the rising crime against women, the Congress delegation demanded action in the matter so that security and safety of women in the state could be ensured.
