To make the presence of Party members felt at every block, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, Madhusudan Mistri, who is also incharge of the Party affairs here in Uttar Pradesh, along with state president, Nirmal Khatri,
toured Sitapur and adjoining areas to garner maximum support during their block level agitation on coming Tuesday. The Party would raise the issues of new Ordinance on land acquisition law, insufficient compensation to farmers against their crops damaged due to un-seasonal rains etc.
You all should ensure and fight if any move has been made by the Central Government to acquire land under the ordinance on land Acquisition”, asserted Mistri to the local people and farmers while assuring them that the Congress is behind them in all their fight and would object any such move. Mistri, was speaking at Rampur Mathura Block of Sitapur on Thursday, during Party’s awareness campaign and to seek maximums support during their proposed call on block level demonstration on coming Tuesday. Giving the above information, spokesman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), RP Singh said that state president, Nirmal Khatri, who was also present with Mistri, called on the farmers as RsAnnadata’, and said that the Party would not get Narendra Modi, to fulfill his dream of handing over land of poor farmers into the hands of corporate world.
RP Singh said that the two leaders appealed the local Congressmen that they should turned up in large number during block level demonstration on coming Tuesday to give a clear message that the Party is ready to take on any fight with the Centre, particularly on the issues related to farmers and poor of the country. He said that both Mistri and Khatri took a night halt in Faizabad on Thursday, and would participate in similar show in Azamgarh on Friday afternoon.
It may be mentioned that the Congress leaders who so far organised agitation at district level would now go to every block of the state, in the hope that in the long run, such protest and demonstration would help them to strengthen Party’s cadre at ground level.
Both Mistri and Khatri, who were desperate to win the confidence of the Party core workers and leaders, had recently also assured the Party’s cadre that they will not repeat the mistake of giving ticket to outsiders in the next Assembly elections. They asked the workers that the ticket will be given to old loyalists and even half of the tickets for next Assembly elections will be announced by them a year ahead of the polls. The announcement was reportedly made to gear-up the senior leaders who were keen to contest elections, and to pass-on message to them that they should ensure success of the agitation if they wanted to strengthen their claim of fighting the polls.
