lucknow criminal hub : Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai

BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai has shown concern over increase in crime against women saying that lucknow has become the hub of criminal activities because of patronage criminal enjoy from ruling party leaders.

In a statement issued here on Friday he said that 38467 criminal cases against women were registered in 2014 which is 11.4 per cent of the total crime against women reported across the country.

“The records of National Crime Bureau show that women are no longer safe in this state. This is the reason why women fear to venture out after dusk. This shows that law and order has completely broken down. This is because this government does not have the political will to arrest criminals,” Dr Bajpai said in a statement issued here.

He said that on one hand the GDP and Agriculture Production Rate has come down while on the other the crime figure has gone up. This is when police do not register all the criminal cases. “One can imagine what would have been the actual crime rate had all the crimes were registered by the police,” he said.

BJP chief even said that lucknow has become the hub of criminal activities because the government does not have the political will to stop the crime. “Senior leaders of the ruling party are giving patronage to the criminals,” he said.

“The Home department is with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. He should take responsibility of his government’s failure to improve law and order,” Dr Bajpai said
