`love jehad' and `ghar vapsi' brain child of BJP :CM

Hitting out at Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that divisive issues like `love jehad’ and `ghar vapsi’ were brain child of BJP because they want to use this issues to gain political mileage during elections.

“Do not believe leaders of this party which promised `achche din’ for you but then vanished. They talked about love jehad and ghar vapsi and created consternation

Now, they are planning to raise some other issue which could create a divide in the society,” Yadav said while addressing a rally in Muzaffar Nagar on Tuesday.

Yadav, who is also state president of Samajwadi Party, raised these controversial issues like love Jehad and Ghar wapsi in Muzaffarnagar which had witnessed a communal flare-up in 2013 which simmered through 2014. SP leaders vouch that Muzaffarnagar helped BJP to sweep Uttar Pradesh during lok Sabha elections.

He said the opposition parties like BJP are driving a wedge between Hindus and Muslims. They are doing it because of forthcoming assembly elections. “Beware of the nefarious design of this party. When BJP is spreading hatred the Samajwadi Party is trying to build a bridge between two commubities,” Yadav said.

He was caustic about Bharatiya Janata Party when he said that BJP has failed to fulfill its promise. Its leader had promised acche din. Where is that acche din. “If people start believing BJP leaders they will be ruined. People have burned their fingers once and will not repeat their mistake in assembly elections,” Yadav said.

He said that BJP cannot match work done by the Samajwadi Party Government in last four years. “People want performance from the government and Samajwadi Party has lived up to the expectations of the people. Compare our work with other governments’ performance and you will see the difference,” Yadav said.

He said that Samajwadi party leaders will go to the people with report card. I am confident that we will pass the test in flying colours and will form the next government in Uttar Pradesh, he said.

“You can compare our government’s performance with previous government. When last government had built memorials and statues the Samajwadi Party government has worked hard to provide better facilities to the people. There has been holistic development all across the state,” Yadav said.

He said that the Samajwadi Party Government has concentrated to improve power supply and built roads for better connectivity. The farmers are now getting water and poor have been brought under the social security umbrella.

“Whatever we have promised during our 2012 assembly elections have been fulfilled. People can compare performance of our government with previous governments. They will see the difference themselves,” Yadav said.

He asked the party workers to go to people and make them aware about the achievements of the Samajwadi Party Government. “The onus will be now on the workers to popularize the policies of the state government. If we can educate people about our policies, no one can stop Samajwadi Party from coming back to power,” he said.

In Muzaffarnagar Chief Minister either inaugurated or laid the foundation stone of 39 projects worth Rs 1000 crore. He also distributed laptops among the students; cycle among the girls and certificates of Samajwadi Pension scheme among women.
