With demand to re-instate sacked ministers gaining grounds Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has put his foot down saying that these ministers, including Shivpal Singh Yadav, would not be taken back.
People close to Chief Minister told The Pioneer on Tuesday that Yadav has made up his mind that the ministers who have been shown the door will not be taken back in the ministry at any cost.
Chief Minister had sacked four ministers including his `chacha’ Shivpal Singh Yadav, Narada Rai, Om Prakash and Shaadab Fatima on October 23. It was believed that a reconciliatory formula has been worked out under which these sacked ministers would be taken back in the cabinet.
There were indications that announcement in this line would be made on Tuesday when these four ministers marched to party office and sat behind party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav when he told press that decision to re-instate sacked ministers lies with Chief Minister. Yadav Sr even said that Shivpal Singh Yadav has never asked for re-induction.
Reporters repeatedly asked Mulayam whether these sacked ministers would be taken back. Mulayam initially ducked the question but later said: “It is for the chief minister to decide. Ask this question to him. I have left this matter to the discretion of Akhilesh Yadav.”
Sources even said that Akhilesh wants that expulsion of Ramgopal Yadav should be taken back. Ramgopal, who is also known as Professor, was expelled from the party after he wrote an open letter ahead of crucial meeting of legislators called by Akhilesh asking them to support Akhiesh Yadav. In his letter he had said: “We want Akhilesh Yadav to be the next chief ministers while the other camp desires his defeat in 2017 assembly election. The rival camp comprises of the people who have minted huge wealth by abusing office and also involved in moral turpitude and debauchery’’. After this letter Ramgopal was expelled from the party.
