Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that controlling law and order in the state was out of bounds as the administrative machinery had bowed to powerful leaders and the chief minister also used lingo like ‘thok do’ and ‘Ram naam satya kar do’.
Listing the incidents of crime against women, Akhilesh Yadav alleged that a woman was gang-raped at gunpoint in Kannauj, a rape victim was shot at in Aligarh, a 40-year-old woman was gang-raped in Jethwara area of Pratapgarh and the accused also filmed the incident and made it viral but despite a complaint being filed, an FIR was yet to be registered.
The SP chief said that the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state practised politics of lies and hatred and false cases filed by it had started to open up.
“The CBI’s chargesheet in Hathras rape case has exposed the lies and irresponsibility of the BJP regime, by confirming gang-rape in the case,” he said.
Affirming his belief in the judiciary and democracy, Akhilesh expressed confidence that former SP minister and jailed Rampur MP Mohammad Azam Khan would soon get justice in the false cases registered against him by the UP Police.
