Reviewing the status of Dial-100 services here with senior officers and security advisor to government, Venkat Chengawalli, on Wednesday afternoon, Yadav said that the PERS would enable the police to reach the spot at the time of any incident within 20 minutes in the rural area and the response time in urban areas would be 10 minutes in two -wheelers and 15 minutes in four-wheelers.   "This is the biggest project of the state as well as the country for modernisation of the police system and will commence by Gandhi Jyanti this year," an official communiqué released on Wednesday evening mentioned.

The PERS building will house the call centre which will have 4800 police vehicles including 3200 four-wheelers at its disposal across the state to reach out to any SOS call on dial 100 within 10 to 15 minutes.  Under this project, any person can contact the headquarters of Dial 100 through telephone, mobile, SMS and any other way 24X7.
