After two years of populist decisions that came in form of doles given to youth in form of laptops or unemployment allowance the state budget, which will be presented by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday, will chart out the next political road map of the Samajwadi Party Government.
Akhilesh Yadav, who is also the state finance minister, will table the budgetary proposals for the current fiscal at 1220 hours after the question hour in the assembly.
The budget session of the UP Assembly will decide whether the SP government will continue the schemes like distribution of laptops and other sops for the youths and Muslim girls.
'Wait for the budget, if there is an allocation then the schemes are through but if there is no allocation then it is scrapped,' officials here said.
There is a debate within the ruling Samajwadi Party over continuation of the laptop scheme after the lok Sabha election debacle.
UP Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati had already announced that the laptop scheme would be shelved but the CM said it was the minister's personal view.
UP government had passed an interim budget of Rs 80086 crores for the first four months of the current fiscal in February last before the lok Sabha elections. The deficit in the interim budget was expected to be around Rs 5181 crore. But no new sops or schemes were announced by the Samajwadi Party government in the interim budget.
