Criticising the Samajwadi Party for inducting the wife and brother of former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha, the state BSP unit said that the step proved that the party is the "haven" for corrupt elements.
"Soon after coming to power, the SP had ordered probes by SIT, Vigilance and others against Kushwaha and now they are inducting his close kin into the party," leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha and senior BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya told reporters in
He said that this showed that the true character of SP leaders. They were earlier castigating former BSP ministers right, left and centre and termed them corrupt but now the party is inducting kin of these leaders. "The SP has inducted Kushwaha's wife and brother hoping that they would be able to sail through in the coming lok Sabha polls with the help of votes of his caste. The fact is that the community was left embarrassed by the actions of Babu Singh Kushwaha as he has earned a bad name for them too," said Maurya.
