Kishore to visit purvanchal region

Published on:

After facing an uphill task to motivate the Congress leaders to provide them names of 32 active workers in each Assembly constituency, poll strategist Prashant Kishore is ready to face another challenge when to examine the ground situation he would visit the Purvanchal region from April 26 onwards.

Interestingly, none of the leaders provided the above list in time which was March 31 last but later after hectic efforts of senior leaders including state president Nirmal Khatri himself, majority of lists were dispatched.

However, it is still a big question that the persons named in the list are `workers’ or `leaders’ as Congress is facing serious crisis of having workers and every Congressmen is a self-styled leader in himself and not ready to work under anyone other’s leadership except for the Gandhi family.

Sources in the Congress confirmed that to realise the dream of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to see the Party back in power in this biggest state of the country which also happened to be home state of the Party’s first family, poll strategist `PK’ would make a second two-day visit to Congress state head-quarter beginning from April 21.

He will discuss the strategy with the senior leaders of the Party particularly on the list of 32 workers in each Assembly segment of Purvanchal region, provided to him. Kishor had sought this list as he needed a committed team in each Assembly of the State to implement `strategy’ set by him to revive the oldest political outfit in the Country. After discussion and taking first hand account of these committed `workers’ deemed to be not willing for any Party post or to contest the election in the near future, Kishor would kick off his tour for one to one interaction with these `workers’ in the Purvanchal region from coming April 26. Sources said that Kishor might face another shock as there are just few workers left in the Congress who were having no hunger for Party post or to contest any election.

Another senior leader in the Congress claimed that if the Party would make any payment to these workers to motive them to implement the Party’s strategy (read Kishor’s strategy) than other leaders working in that area would turned hostile further damaging the Party as they might question that why they will work for the Party for `free’ when Kishor’s team is getting money for the same work. Sources said that this group would face stiff challenge before Kishor to implement his idea of reviving the Party in that region.

It may be mentioned that besides money, the Party is also likely to provide mobile phone to each of the `workers’ so that a group could be created to successfully implement the `plan’.

Sources further said that to facilitate Kishor in his attempt AICC general secretary Madhusudan Mistri and State president, Nirmal Khatri, would also start touring to each Assembly constituency visited by the Party’s poll strategist. All the three, Kishor, Mistri and Khatri will reportedly verify whether the name of 32 workers along information given to them had enough `substance’ and they could go ahead to execute the `Strategy’ set up by Kishor. The main plan of the Party is now to make a reach to every citizen and tell them that they had already seen governments of all other Parties so they must now vote for the Congress if they wanted good old days.

"The job of Mistri, Khatri, Kishor and all other senior Congress leaders is to visit each Assembly constituency and used the services of 32 dedicated Congressmen to make a reach to the people and tell them about advantages of having Congress government in the State as well as how the other Parties particularly Bharatiya Janta Party, our main rival in the next Assembly election are just trying to divide the society just to make political gain out of it”, asserted a senior Congress leader.

It may be mentioned that Prashant Kishor, during his recent meeting with party leaders here in lucknow, had sought names and telephone numbers of 20 active party workers from each Vidhan Sabha segment. The frontal organisations have also been asked to submit two names each from every Assembly segment.

These party workers are to be ones who are not ticket seekers. The list has to be submitted by March 31 along with a 15-page form, duly filled.

Apparently, Kishor wants to directly interact with these party workers and work out the strategy for each segment. He will also keep a watch on the progress in each assembly segment. He sought details like how the Party failed to perform well, which caste or community not voted for the Party, which community can be easily attracted to vote for the Party, what are the caste equations in each Assembly constituency etc.
