Finding unrest amongst some senior leaders of the Congress for not being adjusted in any capacity in the jumbo size Committee of the Party, state president Nirmal Khatri, has reportedly planned to form some `advisory board’ to make those agitated old warriors of the Party satisfied.
Khatri is likely to direct these leaders to explore new ideas and guide his team how to achieve maximum success in the coming Parliament elections.Nirmal Khatri, after being entrusted with the state president post of the Congress in August 2012, is just concentrating on how to keep the party workers and leaders `united’ as since the past over a decade most of the leaders which included ministers, Congress legislative party leaders, former presidents etc, all are running separate offices working against each other to show their supremacy to `High Command’ ( read Ghandhi’s family). The efforts to make a balancing act forced Nirmal Khatri to delay formation of State Congress Committee for more than 19-months along with district level committees. Reports said that at district level, Khatri mooted out a noble idea of appointing a president along with one working president to satisfy two opposite group who were more active to over shadow each other than fighting with the Opposition Parties.
After district level units, Khatri, after finding that the Parliament elections are just round the corner and he could not made any further delay, finally came out with a jumbo size `please all’ committee of 288 office bearers last week. Khatri just avoided inclusion of loyalists of union minister for steel, Beni Prasad Verma in his Committee as the Central minister already launched an open attack against the State president and some other senior leaders like former ClP, Pramod Tewari, and went on to even accused them of having `hand-in-glove’ with the Samajwadi Party.
Reports further said that the Verma loyalists remained quite as they were aware of their fate in Khatri’s committee but what led problem for the State president is that despite of all his efforts, some senior Congress leaders could not be adjusted by him in his jumbo size committee which irked them. Sources in the Party confirmed that before the resentment amongst these leaders came out in open, Khatri said to have once again planned a noble idea and sent a message that he would soon form a `advisory board’ in which all the senior leaders will be included with a task to guiding his team members to put the Congress back on the front runner in the coming elections particularly in Parliament polls.
Sources also said that Khatri was also aware that many female members of the Party are also not happy with him for giving very less representation to their gender in the state committee. The members of the fairer sex are even planning for a show-down with Khatri by coming out against him openly through agitation in the Party’s state head-quarter. Now it is to be seen that how Khatri would reach to some balancing act to satisfy each and every agitated leader in the Party including the females whom even Rahul Gandhi had assured of giving fifty percent representation.
