In yet another interesting turn of events in Uttar Pradesh Congress, state president, Nirmal Khatri, after seeing resentment within the Party leaders over his alleged one sided action in connection with conflict between two Party leaders inside official campus on last Wednesday, had now tried to show himself ‘impartial’ by ordering a probe into the matter on Saturday.
Not only this, he also restricted entry of Organising Secretary, Ashok Singh, inside UPCC office claiming that the move was made as Singh had not replied to notice served on him over the incident. However, what is surprising is that when action has been already initiated against one of the leader, Jamuna Shukla, accusing him of involving in anti-party activities, than what Khatri now wanted to probe is to be seen. It may be mentioned that Jamuna was not even given the opportunity to put his side by Nirmal Khatri, who ordered his expulsion from the Congress for six years.
UPCC Treasurer, Harish Bajpai, a former MlC, has been also included in the three members committee formed to probe the matter by Khatri. Now, when the entire incident took place before Bajpai, and even Ashok Singh, whipped out weapon before his eyes, than now what remains for him to probe into the incident is anyone’s guess. Besides, Bajpai, also reportedly took Ashok Singh with him during mid of controversy and that he (Ashok), took out weapon soon after he returned to the scene after making discussion with Bajpai, so the Treasurer role also came under scanner into the incident and it to be seen that what transpired between him and Ashok Singh, that the latter came back and whipped out pistol.
When chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, Satyadeo Tripathi, was asked that for what purpose Khatri formed the Committee when one sided action has been already initiated by him, he (Tripathi), refused to make any comment. RsRsI do not want to make any comment on the issue as the matter has been looked by Disciplinary Committee chairman, Ramkrishna Dwivedi. Besides, Harish Bajpai, the three members committee formed to probe the matter also included Siraj Mehandi, chairman of UPCC minority cell, and Baldev Chowdhary, former chairman of UPCC Scheduled Caste Department. They were asked to probe the matter and submit their report at earliest. In an communiqué release by UPCC media department in the name of Ramkrishna Dwivedi, also mentioned that since Ashok Singh, had not replied to the notice served to him two days back, so the Party restricted his entry inside UPCC premises. Besides, a notice has been also pasted in the premises on Saturdaythat who so ever would be seen carrying arms inside the premises, he would be punished for his act.
It may be mentioned that RsThe Pioneer’ already published in it’s Saturday edition that how resentment was brewing up against Khatri, for his alleged one sided action in connection with conflict between the two Party leaders on Wednesday. The premises of the state head-quarter of UPCC also wore deserted look as restrictions have been made for the leaders to sit in open for any kind of discussion. Unhappy with the decision, the leaders preferred to sit outside UPCC to register their ire. Besides, most of the senior leaders were also surprised that how the former UPCC spokesman, Ashok Singh, was spared by Khatri just with a notice even when he openly waved weapon inside the Party office campus and had alleged to have tried to open fire and kill a fellow colleague. The leaders said that the move of Khatri to spare Ashok Singh showed that the leaders who could took anyone for ransom after whipping out weapon inside the UPCC premises had the patronage of State president, hence he (Ashok) was just served a notice and Jamuna was expelled.
