Continuing his tirade against the Sangh parivar, UP Minority Affairs minister Azam Khan claimed that the RSS and the BJP needed him for their political survival. The SP leader said that the Sangh Parivar is his biggest supporter that is why they continue to target him.
``I am the punching bag for the Sangh Parivar. They are keeping me relevant in politics by targeting me with all sorts of innuendos for their political survival,’’ said Khan in a statement in Gorakhpur on Thursday.
Earlier this week, Khan kicked up a shindy by casting aspersions on the integrity of RSS leaders and calling them gay. The RSS in retaliation termed him as `mentally sick’.
A RSS leader said, ``Whhat can you expect from a person who endorsed the terror strike in Paris which left 125 dead, who petitioned the UNO on domestic matter of India . You can only feel sorry for a person like Khan whose priorities are the safety of his buffaloes and worshipping the family of Mulayam Singh Yadav.’’
Expressing concern over the turbulent situation in Nepal, Khan said, ``Our PM is a globe trotter while the situation is deteriorating in Nepal. Our tri-colour is being burnt and anti-Indian slogans are being raised. Instead of building his image as a global leader, the PM should spare time for our neighbours."
