Slamming the NDA governments move to deny the minority character to the AMU and Jamia Milia Islimiya Universities, the Minority affairs minister Azam Khan has made a controversial statement on the Union HRD minister Smriti Irani, saying the muslims will not allow the NDA government to grab the prominent educational institutions of the community. Azam Khan has also demanded the intervention of the President in the suicide case of Rahul Vemula, a student of the Hyderabad University. Hyderabad is a central University and the President is the chancellor.
Demanding the intervention of the prime minister in AMU and jamia Milia case Azam Khan said `` `A matric pass and 12th fail ``Sunder Mahila’ who is Union HRD minister is hatching a conspiracy to snatch the control of the AMU, Jamia Milia Islimiya University and Jauhar University from the muslims’’ He added `` I want to caution the minister to think twice before moving further in this direction’’.
``Aligarh Muslim University is no charity. This university represents the sentiments and aspirations of millions of muslims of India and we will never allow the prime institutions to be destroyed. It’s not a challenge for us, but it’s like a challenge. let it be known to the RSS and the BJP that the muslims will never part with the AMU, Jamia Milia and Jauhar university.
The country is governed by the constitution not it by the dictates of the RSS’’, said Azam Khan adding`` the rights of the minorities are enshrined in the constitution which has granted us the right to establish educational institutions’’. Azam Khan said muslims are educationally backward and they need good education and good people should enter politics.
Azam Khan also targeted his old rival, the Imam of Jama Masjid Delhi asking him to stop enjoying the benefits of proximity with the politicians. ``Imam should stop dabbling in politics and should confine his activities within the mosque as its Imam. If he is so interested in politics then resign from Imamat of the mosque and contest election against him in Rampur’’.
Condoling the death of the Hyderabad university student Rahul Vemula, said the Union government its allies and the HRD minister are responsible for the death of the student from the dalit community.
He said the NDA government is anti dalit and anti muslims and are against the students from the two communities to get higher education. He said communal forces are the enemy of the humanity. He said the RSS is working on its agenda to decimate the muslims and the dalits but we will never allow these forces to destroy the educational institutions of the community.
