Urban Developemnt Minister Md Azam Khan has clarified that he had attended the Roza iftar party organised by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at his residence saying though he stayed away from the dais but was with the Samajwadi Party workers.

“It is believed that I had skipped Iftar party organized by CM at his official residence. The fact is I was there. The difference is I stayed away from VIP gallery and stayed in a cornor that had atmosphere of Roza,” Khan said in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He said that he was with the those people who are real power of samajwad and their party. “I feel their power and on this pious month prefer to stay with them. Media did not notice me because they had their eyes on the VIP gallery but missed the cornor which empowers Samajwad,” Khan said.

Speculations were ripe about his absence because of the presence of Amar Singh in the Iftar Party. He has come to CM’s residence along with Mulayam Singh Yadav. Even the party and the information directorate did not give the name of Azam Khan among those ministers who attended Iftar. This clarification of Khan is also a subtle reminder to Samajwadi Party leadership about his importance and he spoke about real power of Samajwad who stays away from the media glare.
