Keshav Prasad Maurya criticised Akhilesh for patronising corrupt and criminals during his tunure

Taking cognizance of the Governor’s recent report on the state of affairs, Uttar Pradesh BJP President, Keshav Prasad Maurya, has criticised Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for patronising the corrupt and the criminals during his five-year rule in the state. “A report by Constitutional head of the State, Governor Ram Naik also points towards complicity of present Government with criminals and the corrupt,” he said.

Maurya, citing Governor’s report, which was released on last Sunday, drew attention to the fact that only two out of 53 petitions sent by lokayukta on the corruption by political leaders and officials were taken care off. “This report has exposed the corrupt and criminal face of CM Akhilesh Yadav,” he said in  a statement here today. Maurya also highlighted how he engineered the episode, corrupt deeds of Public Service Commission chairman and by certain other Commission chairmen were overlooked by  the present Samajwadi Party.”  No action nor prosecution was allowed against 22 Ministers of earlier BSP regime, against whom lokayukta had completed probe. His own ministers like Gayatri Prajapati was shielded despite humongous corruption in Mining sector. This makes it apparent, how present CM has allowed the corrupt and criminals to flourish,” he charged.

State BJP president said even though the Governor had recommended for a CAG audit of shady allotments and questionable expenses by GDA, UP Government refrained from doing so. This again establishes institutionalised corruption which present Government has promoted. UP Govt has studiously ignored cases like Jawahar Bagh, land grabbing, illegal mining and resultant loss to state exchequer.  CM is shying away from bringing out a white paper on these issues, despite strong demand by BJP for the same, he further added. “This has made it plain obvious how ‘clean’ the present CM’s record is despite massive PR attempts to project Akhilesh Yadav as a honest CM,” he said.
