A day after the ‘undeclared’ show of strength of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the city, Aam Admi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal took out an impressive road-show here on Friday evening. Standing on open vehicles, Kejriwal and top party leaders were seen responding the cheers of supporters. As the procession was passed through busy roads which normal see jams like situation, it took several hours to reach the culminating site at lahurabir in late evening hours. As just one day more left when the campaigning would come to en end , there would be two road-shows on the last day on Saturday when Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s road-show would be taken out first in the morning and them in afternoon hours the similar road-show of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav would be carried out.
The road-show was started more than an hour late than the scheduled time from lanka when after garlanding the statue of BHU’s founder Pt Madan Mohan Malviya, Kejriwal started his road-show. As thousands of supporters were presented in the procession and good number of people were seen waiting on road side the procession of Kejriwal crawled and wheeled through the city’s areas posing difficult task for the security personnel.
After passing through lanka, Sant Raidas Gate, Assi, Bhadhaini, Shivala, Sonarpura, Madanoura, Jangambadi Math it reached Godowlia crossing, and then passing through Nai Sarak, Chetganj it reached lahurabir. In several areas due to excess rush it took several hours to move on. Top party leaders including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Bollywood star Javed Jafari , former BHU students union president Shiv Kumar Singh and over a dozen other popular faces of the party were present. In some of the area, hundreds of people were seen standing on the rooftops. Earlier, Kejriwal visited Sri Vidya Math at Kedar Ghat to seek blessing from Swami Avimukteshwaranand.
