Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener, Arvind Kejriwal slammed Rahul Gandhi for damaged roads and poor development in past 10 years.

“Congress led Central government spent Rs 13 lakh crore like water during their 10 years old regime. In this period, Rahul Gandhi was Member of Parliament (MP) from Amethi, if he would have spent Rs 10 crore on roads here the picture would have been different,” said Kejriwal on last of three day long visit to Amethi on Tuesday.

AAP claimed that while Kejriwal was wearing AAP cap with Urdu text printed on it, an elderly women was coming to bless him at Gandhinagar area. But due to potholes, she slipped on road and was injured. “Not the time has come to teach lesson to the politicians through the weapon of vote and also that they should know about the importance of people and communities,” he said.

Kejriwal claimed that two surveys were conducted by different organisations about political situations in Amethi. One of them, showed that Kumar Vishwas popularity was leading with 47 percent while only 34 percent are in favor of Rahul Gandhi. Other survey shows popularity of AAP in Amethi with 62 percent.

While holding road shows in the stronghold of congress party, the congress leaders who recently joined AAP were seen standing with Kejriwal. “Arvind Singh and Chaudhary Eesa who were close to Congress MP Sanjay Singh joined AAP a long time back in Amethi. This has created ‘hulchul’ in local congress unit and even two leaders of BJP had meeting with Kejriwal,” said Panjak Shukla, In-charge AAP Amethi.

Kejriwal also organised road shows in Muslim dominated areas including Salon and Tiloi where Muslims after holding prayers in local mosques a public meeting was organised near it. They not only welcomed him but also organised ‘Sabeel’ (water stall) for people accompanying Kejriwal in the rally.
