Ignoring Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directive for taking stern action against sexual predators, Kaushambi police are trying to bail out a rape accused under the influence of a local legislator of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“I went to Kokhraj police station to lodge a report of rape against the accused but the SHO refused and asked me to go back as a local BJP legislator has made a call in this regard,” the victim said before media persons and accused the police of dancing to the tunes of the ruling party leaders.
The victim alleged that last Friday, when she went to ease herself, a local youth dragged her into a thicket and raped her. She further charged that the rapist let her go after handing out life threats and warned her against complaining to the police.
