Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party which is supporting the farmers protesting against the agricultural laws, BJP MP Prof Ram Shankar Katheria said that Mulayam Singh Yadav was indeed the “son of the land (dharti putra)” but today there was no farmer left in his party.
Prof Katheria on Monday told journalists in Etawah that no farmer was associated with the Samajwadi Party, which was agitating against the agricultural bills.
“New agriculture laws are a boon for the farmers but the opposition are creating an atmosphere of confusion among the farmers about the bill,” he said.
The former Union minister said that the Narendra Modi government was introducing many schemes for increasing the income of the farmers through which the economic condition of the peasants could improve.
“In view of these efforts, the government has brought the new agricultural laws which are related to the farmers’ crops, opening up of markets etc.,” he added.
