Kannauj perfume to reach  Europe, Middle East

Published on:

The perfume of Kannauj will soon reach Europe and the Middle East as the Uttar Pradesh government is making efforts to take ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) under MSME to the global level.

A government spokesman said that the first step towards achieving the above goal is that for the first time, the International Perfume Festival is being organised in the state.

“A delegation from all the leading countries, including European and Middle East, will be invited to this event to be held in February next year. The delegation will get an opportunity to meet the perfume traders of Kannauj. Along with this, they will also be made acquainted with the merits of the perfume of Kannauj and the process of its manufacturing. Through this, the perfume traders of Kannauj will also get an opportunity to showcase their products to foreign buyers and explore the possibilities of global trade,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that the perfume of Kannauj is discussed all over the world. It is said that the smell of perfume also comes from the soil of the streets of Kannauj.

According to information, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will be responsible for bringing the foreign delegation to the International Perfume Festival. Under this event, there will be a one-day programme in Lucknow, in which various seminars will be organised. Thereafter, all the foreign guests will be taken to Kannauj. They will get an opportunity to meet perfume entrepreneurs, perfume manufacturers and exporters.

The International Perfume Festival will be attended by representatives from countries around the world, especially those from European countries like France, Germany, Switzerland.

Apart from this, many countries of the Middle East, including Dubai, will also participate in it. France is the most important of all these countries, as it is considered a leader in the perfume industry.

The main objective of organising the International Perfume Festival is to connect the world’s perfume-producing countries and companies with the perfumes of India, especially Kannauj.

The most special thing about the perfume of Kannauj is that essential oil is used in the manufacture of perfume. It is completely organic and does not cause any side effects or harm to the user. At the same time, alcohol is used more and more in the manufacturing of perfumes in most countries.

Gradually, the world market is moving towards essential oils. In such a situation, these countries are looking towards India. That is why the aim is to bring perfume makers from these countries to the festival so that if they turn to perfumes based on essential oils, Kannauj is on their mind.

Foreign guests will also be taken to the ‘Ittar Park’ (perfume park) being built on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. The state government is constructing a perfume park in an area of 57 acres. It is likely to be inaugurated by the end of November. By then, its first phase will be completed. In the first phase, 30 acres will be constructed while in the second, the park will be constructed on the remaining 27 acres.

Plots will be provided to small perfume traders of Kannauj. They will be able to display their products on a large scale. It will be a theme park. There will also be a tour facility for those who pass through the expressway or come from outside.

Through this perfume park, the objective of the government is that the industries which are working on a small scale will be taken out and brought to a place where they can be provided with common facilities with advanced machinery.
