Elated over his new Gubernatorial assignment former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh said that he would serve as a `sewak’ and would listen to the woes of the people and dutifully convey the same to the state government.
Singh was appointed as Governor of Rajasthan on Tuesday. He was, however, very critical over the way Uttarakhand governor Aziz Quereshi moved the Supreme court to remain in the seat. Talking to The Pioneer on telephone Singh said the act of Quereshi was against morality.
'' A Governor should resign himself after the change of government at the Centre. But moving the Supreme Court by a constitutional head is unfortunate,'' he said.
lauding Vasundhara Raje Scindhia government in Rajasthan, he said that the present BJP government there is working for the people and the development of the desert state.
'' I will also serve the state as a sevek and assist the government in fulfilling the dreams of the people,'' Singh said.
Meanwhile, horde of senior BJP leaders met Singh and congratulated him for becoming the governor of Rajasthan.
Singh, is the second BJP leader of the state, who has been appointed at the Governor. Earlier former UP assembly speaker Keshrinath Tripathi has been made the governor of West Bengal.
