Assuring jobs to the educated youth Union Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Kalraj Mishra said that Government has launched Berozgar to Swa-rozgar” scheme where over three lakh educated youth have been given training in last nine months so as to make them financially independent. “A small beginning has been made where youth are being given training and then they are given jobs. If jobs are not possible these youths are given finances to start their own business,” Mishra told The Pioneer here on Wednesday. He said that in last nine months rule of NDA Government over three lakh youth have been given training. Majority of them have found jobs in private sector while a few have been financial assistance under Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP).

“Our focus is clear. We want work for every hand. It is a commitment of our government to provide work to all the trained people. Therefore, our government is first providing training to the youth and then giving them work so that they can enjoy economic empowerment,” Mishra said. The minister said that training centres, called incubation Training centres, have been set up all across the country where class X pass students are given vocational training in various courses like computer repairing, mobile repairing, bakery, furniture making, tailoring and even soap and candle making. “Government has also signed Rural Self Employment Training programme with Khadi Village Industry Commission (KVIC) where this government agency would impart training to the youth in villages. The KVIC will also arrange finance and provide the youth raw material,” the minister said and added in some cases Government plans to provide market for these new entrepreneurs.

He said in some cases even private entrepreneurs have been invited to train the youth. A pilot project has been launched in Varanasi where electronic giant Samsung has started a training programme in PM’s constituency of Varanasi. Youth from not only Varanasi but also from nearby areas will get short training and then can open their business in their villages. “By next year training centres will be set up almost in all prominent cities where youth will get vocational training. This will prevent migration of youth from small town to big cities in search of job. In turn, this will bring prosperity in villages,” he said
