Jungle raj prevails in UP: Shivpal

Hitting out at Uttar Pradesh government, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Singh Yadav on Friday said that a jungle raj prevailed in the state as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had lost control over the bureaucracy and the police administration.

Shivpal Yadav, who was in Etawah on Friday, said the law and order situation was in a shambles and this was evident from the rising tide of crime against women and the spate of incidents against the weaker sections of society.

The PSPL chief said that the civil administration in many districts was helpless as the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and ministers were proving the biggest threat to the law and order.

He said if this situation persisted, then there would be total anarchy in the state.

The PSPL leader alleged that the government machinery in the entire state was engaged in the exploitation of people as the officers were neck deep in corruption.

“The common man is living in a state of fear as people have nowhere to go with their grievances against the police and administration officials,” he said.

Shivpal Yadav said that the people would have to come together to dislodge the Yogi Adityanath government.

He said the Allahabad High Court had taken a very dim view and indicted the state government over the handling of the alleged gang-rape incident in Hathras where human dignity and human rights of the poor were trampled by the district officials with impunity.
