Jamait Ulama Hind slammed the Samajwadi Party government for failing to fulfill the promises it had made to the muslims during the last state assembly elections in 2012. The jamait said the Akhilesh Yadav government has completed nearly four years in office, not a single promise it had made to the msulims has been fulfilled so far.
The general secretary of the jamait Ulama hind Maulana Mehmood Madni said here on Thursday that he was making any charge against the Samajwadi Party government but only reminding the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav about the promises he had made to the msulims in his party’s election manifesto during the 2012 state assembly elections.
Maulana said Akhilesh Yadav had promised that if he was voted to power then he would exert pressure on the Union government for the implementation of the recommendations of the Sacchar committee and Rangnath Mishra commission. He said the chief minister had also promised to make provision for the reservation for muslims as given to dalits and other communities. Maulana said it’s a matter of deep regret that far from doing anything on reservation, Samajwadi party never felt the need to communicate with the muslims on this issue.
The jamait leader also reminded the chief minister of the promise that the SP government would establish educational and techn ical institutions in muslims dominated districts. He said the Samajwadi Party had also promised that the muslim youth languishing in jail on charges of terror would be released and would be duly compensated for their illegal detention. He said the muslims of the state were still waiting for the action to be taken by the state government all the three issues.
Maulana said similar promises were made for opening of the Urdu schools in Muslim dominated areas and special measures for the promotion of Urdu and special drive for the recruitment of the muslims youth in police and security forces to instill a sense of confidence in the community. The jamait leader said the Samajwadi Party leaders have forgotten all the promises they had made during the elections but these promises have not faded from the memory of the people of the state and they will seek the answer from the ruling party during the next state assembly elections in 2017.
