A jilted lover struck terror in Barabanki when he barged inside the house of a girl, brutally assaulted her and later opened fire in which the victim along with her mother were critically injured.
The accused later fled from the scene of crime. local police which reached the spot, shifted both the victims to District Hospital from where they were referred to Trauma Centre here in lucknow. A case of attempt to murder has been registered and efforts were made to arrest the accused.
Reports said that one Akeem, a resident of Bakrapur locality of Baddupur in Barabanki, was trying to lure her neighborhood 20-year-old girl Noorjahen (name changed), for the last few months. The accused proposed the girl for marriage and when she refused, he also terrorised her with life threats. The girl subsequently informed her family members, who in turn appraised the local police demanding appropriate action.
Reports said that the matter took an ugly turn when Akeem, after learning that a complaint was made against him with the local police, had barged inside the girl’s house in the wee hours of Monday. He brutally assaulted the girl and when her mother came to her rescue, the accused opened fire in which both girl and her mother were critically injured. After hearing the gun shots, some other neighbors came out of their houses and after finding the two lying in pool of blood, they called the police and shifted both to hospital. The local police claimed to have formed two separate teams to arrest the accused and appropriate security has been also provided to the victims so no further untoward incident took place.
