A jilted lover attempted to eliminate his lady love but ended up injuring her critically in lakhimpur Kheri on Saturdayafternoon. The victim was shifted to hospital and the police registered a case and were trying to arrest the absconding culprit.
As per reports, a girl student of a post-graduate college at Kheri under Gola Gokharannath police station area was going to submit her file in the college on Saturday afternoon. At the Mehmoodabad turning, Anshu Dikshit suddenly intercepted the girl. Dikhsit reportedly liked the girl and had also proposed to her which was spurned with a warning that he should not repeat the mistake.
Dikshit grabbed the girl and pulled her into his nearby bangle shop before stabbing her repeatedly. Some passersby rescued the girl after which she was shifted to a hospital. A case was registered in this regard by the police and efforts were on to arrest him.
Meanwhile at Aligarh, a senior BJP leader took the law in her hand in the name of `moral policing’ and assaulted a girl just because she was chatting with a youth. The woman leader was later booked for the crime but no action was taken. The local police were now trying to force the complainant to withdraw the case.
The girl and a youth of different religion were having an affair and were sitting at a tea stall in Gandhi Park police station area last Monday. The matter took an ugly turn when District Mahila Morcha chief of BJP, Sangeeta Varshney approached the girl and assaulted and abused her for her act.
Instead of takingaction against Barshmney, the local police held the youth and booked him for obscenity at public place. He was later released on bail from the police station. In a frantic effort to save Varshney, senior officers even asked the couple not to lodge a complaint against her.
However their efforts boomeranged as the clipping of Varshney assaulting the girl went viral on social media. The victim’s father also contacted the police to lodge a case. Under pressure from media, the Aligarh Police registered a case against Varshney for assaulting and abusing the girl but no further action was taken.
