Uttar Pradesh’s districts continue to excel in the national survey of the Jal Jeevan Mission. In the October report, several districts of Uttar Pradesh have emerged as the best performers.

Ghaziabad district has secured the third position in the four-star category (high achievers), where the Har Ghar Jal Yojana is rapidly reaching 100 per cent of households with tap water connections.

According to data from the Jal Jeevan Mission website, Ghaziabad, which ranks third in the high achievers category, is closely followed by Auraiya, Kanpur Nagar and Ayodhya.

In the performers category, Jaunpur is in the first position, Aligarh in the second and Barabanki in the third. Mathura ranks second in the aspirant category.

The ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is rapidly advancing in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government.

Districts in Uttar Pradesh participate in the national survey every month, where they are evaluated based on various parameters, including water quality, training provided to women for water testing and the provision of tap water connections to rural families. Districts are chosen based on their scores in this survey, which is conducted nationwide.
